Howard legal fees: one reported total

Reported payment period · 2023–2024

The Union-Tribune reports Grossmont paid JW Howard Attorneys $733,000 during 2023–24, citing district quarterly legal-fee reports. This is legal spending paid to a firm, not damages or money personally paid to a trustee. The same figure in the July article is not another cost.

Hobbs salary and resignation settlement are different categories

Resignation settlement; salary role began February · 2025-05

The Union-Tribune describes the chief-of-staff position as paying $187,000 a year and separately reports a $187,000 resignation settlement. An annual salary rate does not show a full year was earned or paid. The settlement is a reported payment commitment, not a verified disbursement record.

Tagnesi settlement: reported components, not a trial verdict

Approval reported as the previous month in December 2 article; exact day unconfirmed · 2025-11

The Union-Tribune reports a $700,000 account for future payments to Rose Tagnesi over two decades, nearly $19,000 payable immediately and more than $481,000 in attorney fees: approximately $1.2 million in reported settlement components, not $1.2 million paid directly to Tagnesi. The executed agreement has not been obtained here, so this is not an exact audited total or confirmation all sums were paid.

Response / later development

Discrimination was alleged, not established by a trial verdict in this account. The district and Woods said the settlement did not admit wrongdoing or validate the claims and was intended to limit litigation costs.
